Privacy
The short version: your videos, leads and settings stay on your iPhone. The only thing the app sends is an anonymous count of how it's used, like "a video was brought in" or "a lead was saved", so we can tell whether it's working for people. It isn't tied to you, and you can turn it off in Settings.
The app
- Your videos, marks, leads and settings stay on your phone. They aren't uploaded to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
- No accounts, no ads, no tracking. The app doesn't know who you are, and nothing it sends is used to follow you across other apps or websites.
- Camera: used only to record targets, and only while you're on the recording screen. The app doesn't record sound.
- Photos: when you bring in a video, iPhone's own picker hands the app only the videos you choose. The app can't see the rest of your library. When you save a lead video, the app adds it to Photos; it can't read or change anything else there.
- Sharing: when you share a lead video, it goes only where you send it: a text, an email, a social app. What happens to it there is up to that app.
Anonymous usage counts
Unless you turn it off, the app sends a short note when you:
- open the app,
- record a video or bring one in, or an import fails or is canceled,
- start marking a clip and reach the Box and Direction steps,
- finish Find the lead, and whether it found a lead, lost the target or couldn't read the video,
- tap Done, save a lead, re-measure, try other shells, keep just the flight, or make a video to share,
- and, if the app crashed or froze, iOS's report of that: the kind of crash or how long it froze, and which version it was. Not what was on screen.
Each note carries the time, a few plain details (like whether the video was filmed in the app, whether Show movement was used, the target size picked, how many tries it took, how long Find the lead took, and the distance and speed in rough 10-yard and 10-mph steps), the app version, the iOS version and the iPhone model. It also carries a random ID the app makes on your phone, so we can tell how many people use the app and how often, without knowing who anyone is. It doesn't include your videos, pictures, target names, location, contacts or anything else about you, and the ID isn't connected to your Apple Account or your phone's advertising ID.
The notes go to our server at seethelead.com, which runs on Cloudflare. We don't store your IP address with them. We use them only to see whether the app is working and where people get stuck, we don't share or sell them, and we delete them after two years.
To turn it off: open Settings in the app and switch off Share anonymous usage. Nothing more is sent, and anything waiting on the phone and the random ID are thrown away. If you turn it back on later, you get a new ID. Deleting the app does the same.
If you email us
If you write to support@seethelead.com or reports@seethelead.com, we see your email address and whatever you send, including any clip you attach. We use it only to answer you and fix the problem, and we don't share it. Ask, and we'll delete it.

Changes
If a later version of the app lets you send a problem report from the app, it'll show exactly what gets sent before you send it, and this page will be updated before that version comes out. Any change to this page is posted here with a new date.
